Patient Safety 2018 will focus on educational advanced nursing research directed towards its impact on clinical practice and outcomes, through oral and poster presentations, educational workshop sessions, and influential plenary presentations. Attendees will be provided with the tools to enhance nursing research education programs to make education more effective in nursing practice.
The Patient Safety 2018 is a platform for nursing students, faculty, deans, researchers, and leaders to collaborate on topics affecting nursing education.
Scope and Importance
Patient Safety 2018 aims to discover advances in health practice opportunities and challenges for the nursing community, management and education in relation to health disparities as well as a breadth of other topics. According to the reports, total health care spending in Ireland in 2013 was €18.4 billion or 12.4% of Gross National Income (GNI). In November 2015, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) reported in its “Health at a Glance 2015” annual data that spending on health in the US consumed 16.4% of GDP in US, followed by the Netherlands at 11.1%, an OECD average of 8.9% and an Irish ratio of 8.1% in 2012 while in the rate in UK in 2013 was 8.6%. Ireland spent 7.6 % on health, slightly higher than the EU average of 7.2%. In 2014, the expenditure on healthcare increased to 19.1 billion euro.
